Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This page explains what happens to your information when you use this website. I’ve tried to keep it clear, honest, and free of legal jargon.
Who I am
I run this site as an independent web consultant based in Southampton, UK.
If you ever have questions about your data, you can email me at: hello@weareindi.co.uk
What I collect
If you get in touch, I may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Anything you include in your message (project details, questions, etc.)
- A website URL (if you use the performance testing tool)
That’s it. I don’t collect anything in the background, and I don’t use analytics or tracking.
How I collect it
Information is only collected when you actively provide it, for example:
- Filling out a contact or project form
- Clicking my email address and sending me a message
- Entering a website URL into the performance tool
What I use your information for
Simply put: to reply to you.
That might include:
- Responding to your enquiry
- Discussing a potential project
- Sharing performance results you’ve requested
I don’t use your information for anything else.
No marketing. No mailing lists.
If you contact me:
- I won’t add you to a mailing list
- I won’t send you unsolicited emails
- I won’t use your details for marketing
You’ll only hear from me in direct response to your message, and any natural follow-up from that conversation.
How your data is handled
When you submit a form on this site, your message is sent to me via a third-party email service: Resend.
This means:
- Your message is processed by Resend so it can be delivered
- The content of your message (including your name and email address) may be stored by them as part of that process
- I receive your message in my email inbox and reply from there
I don’t maintain a separate database of submissions.
Other services used
This site also uses:
- Google PageSpeed Insights API — to generate website performance reports when you request them
When you use this tool, the website URL you enter is sent to Google to retrieve performance data.
Temporary storage in your browser
To make things work smoothly, your browser may store small amounts of data locally:
- Session storage — used to keep performance results available as you move around the site
- IndexedDB — used to temporarily store form submissions if you go offline, so they can be sent once your connection returns
This data stays in your browser and isn’t used to track you.
How long data is kept
- Emails are kept in my inbox for as long as needed to manage conversations
- I don’t maintain a structured database of your data
- Third-party services like Resend may retain data in line with their own policies
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Request access to the data I hold about you
- Ask for corrections if something isn’t accurate
- Request deletion of your data
If you’d like to do any of the above, just email me.
Security
I take reasonable steps to protect your information.
That said, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so I can’t guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes, I’ll update this page.
